Terms of Service

The service and eligibility

Mess Map uses photos you submit to suggest cleaning steps and provides optional progress/game features. AI output is a suggestion, not a guarantee of accuracy, safety or a particular result. Apple's applicable app license and mandatory consumer protections continue to apply to the downloaded iOS app.

Mess Map is a general-audience, parent-managed household productivity app. Account holders must be adults (18 or older) and legally able to enter an agreement. Adult account holders choose and approve room photos submitted for AI analysis. Parents or guardians may use Mess Map with their children, including supervised use of Quest Mode. We do not offer independent under-13 accounts, directly market Mess Map as an under-13 app, or launch it in Apple’s Kids Category. We do not operate a COPPA parental-consent service. Adult supervision is not permission for a child to independently create an account or upload photos. Keep identifiable children under 13 out of uploaded photos. Contact us if you believe a child has independently provided personal information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Your account

Provide accurate information, protect your credentials and use your own account. Keep access to your chosen sign-in method and report suspected unauthorized use. Apple may use a private-relay email. Google sign-in currently requires an approved OAuth test account. Using the same email with another provider does not guarantee the new method will be accepted for an existing account.

Your photos and other content

You keep your rights to your submitted content. You allow Mess Map and its service providers to receive, transmit, process and store it as needed to provide the requested service and for the retention/legal purposes described in the Privacy Policy. This does not authorize us to sell your photos, publish them in advertising or use them for unrelated marketing.

Submit only material you have the right and necessary permission to share and process. Keep identifiable people, private documents, intimate images and sensitive details out of photos. You choose whether and where to share a before/after export; recipients may keep copies.

AI suggestions and physical safety

AI can misidentify objects, miss hazards, estimate time incorrectly or suggest unsuitable steps. Review each instruction and skip or change work that does not suit your space. Mess Map is not a safety inspection, emergency service or medical/ADHD treatment.

Do not mix cleaning chemicals, handle unknown sharps or hazardous substances, touch exposed electrical hazards, climb unstable objects or move dangerously heavy items without suitable help. Follow product instructions and supervise household activities as appropriate. These responsibilities do not waive rights you have under applicable law.

Acceptable use

Do not submit unlawful material, invade privacy, impersonate someone, interfere with the service, bypass access/payment controls, automate abusive requests or exploit bugs for tokens/rewards. Security research must not access another user's data or disrupt the service. Report concerns to our contact address.

Mess Tokens, XP and access

Mess Tokens authorize scans under the terms shown in the app. Currently, Room and Laundry scans use one token; Mega Mess uses two. A submitted scan can remain pending while its outcome is confirmed. Avoid resubmitting simply because you closed the screen. Charges and restoration follow the verified scan outcome and applicable consumer rights.

Tokens are service credits, not money, investments or a right to cash redemption. The current app does not transfer tokens between users. XP, levels and ranks represent game progress; XP has no inactivity or streak-loss penalty, but account deletion removes progression. Advertised token rewards have eligibility rules.

Current availability: iOS purchases, subscriptions and Restore Purchases are not connected or verified. No token pack or subscription is currently offered for purchase through this website. Preview offers are not completed purchases.

Planned paid launch: new accounts start with 0 Mess Tokens. AI scans require the relevant token balance; there is no automatic free starting allowance. We plan consumable Mess Token packs and an auto-renewing monthly subscription with a monthly token allowance through Apple In-App Purchase/StoreKit on iOS. This website does not provide a Stripe checkout.

Promotional rewards: eligible Quest accounts may earn promotional Mess Tokens at defined level milestones beginning at Level 5. These are earned rewards, not starting credit, and follow the advertised eligibility rules. Purchased token terms will be disclosed separately from promotional eligibility.

When purchases become available: the Apple purchase sheet and accompanying offer will state the localized price, pack quantity or monthly token allowance, billing period, renewal terms and any applicable offer before you authorize payment. No subscription starts merely by creating an account. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple account under the displayed terms. Deleting the app or account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Request Apple purchase refunds through Apple, subject to eligibility and applicable law; contact us about missing credits or entitlement errors. Mandatory consumer rights remain intact.

Before paid launch: final product identifiers, quantities, prices, monthly allowance, renewal/grant timing, treatment of unused subscription credits and verified purchase/restore/refund handling are not finalized. Purchased IAP credits will not expire. Subscription-credit terms will be disclosed before sale. No trial, rollover schedule or final price is currently offered.

Rights and service changes

Mess Map software, branding and original materials belong to their respective owners. We do not claim ownership of your photos or promise exclusive copyright in AI output.

Features and availability may change. We will provide notice where reasonably practical for material changes affecting paid access and honor applicable refund/consumer obligations. Save copies of information important to you; retention windows and device-data loss can limit recovery.

Ending use and deletion

You may stop using Mess Map and initiate deletion through Profile/Settings in the iOS app, or contact us for help. The Privacy Policy explains removal and retained records. We may suspend access for material misuse, legal necessity or a credible security concern and, where appropriate, explain the reason and provide a contact route.

Availability, responsibility and changes to these terms

The beta service may experience interruptions and errors. We do not promise error-free AI or suitability for every task. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer rights.

Material changes will be dated and accompanied by appropriate notice and renewed acceptance where required. Contacting support is not a condition to exercising legal rights. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to the extent lawful.
